Aisling Bea

Aisling was born March 16 1984 at Kildare Ireland. She is one of Ireland's most successful and well-known comedians. She was featured on QI, with Stephen Fry. Aisling Cliodhnadh (born 16 March 1984) is a stand-up comedian and actress from Ireland. Bea started her professional career in stand-up comedy in 2011, following small parts she played for Irish and British television dramas starting in 2009. In 2012, she started appearing on a variety of sketches and sitcoms. In 2012, after she was awarded an award at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards (ECA) in 2012, she began appearing often in various panel shows. Between 2016 and 2017, she was a team captain for 8 Out of 10 Cats and is a frequent contestant on the sequel 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. Her parents were Brian and Helen O'Sullivan and has a sister named Sinead. In 2012 she was the only woman to be awarded the So You Think You Are Funny Award. Bea is her name in honor of her deceased father. Aisling O'Sullivan, whose real name is as Cliodhnadh Aisling, was born at Kildare town in County Kildare. Bea's father Brian who was an equine vet, who was killed at the age of three when Bea reached the age of three, was a sufferer of self-harm. The news of his death only at the age of thirteen. Bea adopted the stage name Bea to pay tribute to her father and wrote an article for The Guardian in 2017 about the suicide of her family members. Bea's mother Helen, who is also an instructor for jockeys and a former professional jockey was responsible for the care of her daughter as well as Sinead. The family was obsessed with racing and horses. Bea began her career as an official guide for tourists at Irish National Stud. But she realized her true passion was acting, not racing.
